Northwest Church of Christ is active in the following ministries:
Benevolence
-
The Benevolence ministry is responsible
for displaying a disposition to do good to all men and exhibiting
acts of kindness through material goods and any other benevolence
means that meets the stated need (James 2:14 - 17; Gal 6:10)
Education -
The
Education Ministry is to promote the spiritual growth and development
of each Christian through teaching and by example. This ministry
is responsible for the development and continous growth of the
Church's teaching program. This includes class curriculum, selection
and training of teachers and assistants. Our education ministry
will expose students to the bible from Genesis to Revelation.
Classes are available for Pre-K, grades 1-8, 9 -12, College Ages,
Young Adults & Singles, New Converts, and Adults Class.
Outreach/Evangelism
-
In order for the Northwest Church
of Christ to further fulfill its commitment and obligation to
the greater commission, (Matthew 28:18-19), it is our aim to
reach, teach, disciples and assist the lost in surrendering to
the gospel of Christ and to help the world to understand this
need (John 6:45). Therefore, the purpose of this ministry is
to build relationships and minister to the physical and spiritual
needs of every member of the Northwest Church of Christ. Restore
delinquent members. Contact people who visit our congregation.
Strengthen our relationship with the community, colleges and
universities through campus ministries, and outreach programs.
Objectives
- Reach the unreached, teach the
untaught and save the unsaved both inside and outside the church
by personal and public proclamation of the gospel (Mark 16:15-16).
- Reach those who have never heard
the Gospel and those who have heard a form of the gospel and
have obeyed but have forsaken it.
- This ministry will also be responsible
for overseeing and monitoring the Churches new converts class
by insisting that they be regular participants in these classes
working with surrounding universities and colleges to include
trade schools.

Ladies
-
The mission of the Ladies Ministry
is to evangelize, to strengthen and edify one another, to be
virtuous women, to be a light unto the world, and to be of service
- great or small. This ministry coordinates the social activities
of the Church with the approval of the Elders. This would include,
but is not limited to Friends and Family Days, Holiday Fellowships,
Gospel Meetings, Ladies Lectureship and Ladies Retreat, etc.
Youth
-
The Youth Ministry at Northwest
Church of Christ seeks to involve and strengthen our young people
through fun and spiritual activities.

Singles
-
The mission of the Singles ministry
is similar to that of the congregation as a whole and that is
to promote L.I.F.E. (Love, Fellowship, Involvement and Evangelism).
The Singles ministry is for Single members ages 18 and above.
The singles ministry is involved in many activities ranging from
Community projects, to monthly bible studies, and other fun activities
all centered around glorifying Christ while providing a spiritual
support system for the Singles of the Northwest family and surrounding
sister congregations.
Radio/Media
-
The purpose of this ministry
is to record, distribute, and publicize God's word for the teaching
and edification of New Testament Christians and Non-Christians.
To expand the audio/visual support beyond Sunday worship, i.e.
TV broadcast. Documents and distributes the Lord's word on CD
and video. Provide church advertisements through local newspapers.
Make sermons available through our website. Establish and maintain
a regular radio broadcast program.
This ministry is a part of our
Evangelism ministry and serves to use the radio airwaves in order
to teach the unsearchable riches of the gospel. Our radio program
airs every Sunday afternoon on WEUP 1700 AM radio at 2:15PM.
Prison
-
The mission of the Prison Ministry
is to minister to lost souls incarcerated at the Limestone Correctional
Facility. We work there to assist in the spiritual needs of those
prisoners and their families. We provide bible classes, personal
study, and lessons from the pulpit. We also strive to provide
some of the personal needs of the prisoners by providing hygiene
and other equipment for the health and well being of those individuals
that have no family. We work closely with the Chaplain's office
at LCF in order to gain greater access to the prison. Our overall
mission is to do the will of the FATHER and that is to visit
those in prison.
Audits
and Compliance -
The purpose of this ministry
is to audit the various church ministries budget accounts on
a recurring basis to ensure funds are distributed and spent according
to the annual projected budget. Ensures proper disbursement forms
are completed and filed. Prepare and recommend budgets for the
various program of the church. Review past budget histories and
projects future financial revenue growth.
Safety
and Security -
The purpose of this ministry
is to protect God's people and property so that the work of the
church can move forward. Provide proactive security analysis,
develops provide security architecture and seeks to ingraining
security awareness into the church's worship environment. Work
in partnership with all church ministries to support the church's
mission and goals.
Building
and Grounds -
The purpose of this ministry
is to ensure the congregation has a comfortable facility to worship
and conduct church meetings. Ministry is responsible for purchasing,
maintenance, and oversight of the physical property to include
building and grounds. This would include outside maintenance,
and inside cleaning, tin order to provide a safe, clean, and
comfortable worship environment for the congregation.
Finance
-
The Finance Ministry is the instrument
used to help us accomplish our mission statement. Therefore,
this ministry focuses its attention on purchasing, administering
and managing all of the financial items necessary to carry out
the work of the Northwest Church of Christ.
L.I.F.E.
Group -
The purpose of the L.I.F.E. Group
ministry is to promote Love, Involvement, Fellowship, and Evangelism
within the congregation. This ministry is involved in fellowshipping
through worship, bible study and small group interaction, calling
and visiting the sick, and providing for the physical and spiritual
needs of the L.I.F.E Group members. This ministry also serves
as a tool to train and develop future church leaders.
Transportation
-
The purpose of this ministry
is to provide transportation to members and non-members, who
need transportation to the building for worship, bible study
and to attend other activities of the church. The objective of
this ministry is to get you to the building on time for these
events.
